To All the Morally Justified and Devout Catholics Damning Adam Lanza

It has always been my understanding that the final judgement is God's and God's alone.  Where we may highly suspect that some one is or will be judged to spend eternity in Hades, it is NOT our place to judge or even curse someone to hell.  There are reports the Connecticut shooter committed suicide, and yes that usually suggests a Sin against the Holy Spirit, but remember that the Church and therefore God, does make exceptions in the case of mental disease or insanity  (and if you think that a sane person could do what the shooter did in Connecticut, I pray that God does not judge you so harshly but grants you some compassion, and that self same mercy you are withholding from your fellow man.

For the victims in Connecticut:
Eternal Rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. AMEN

12/12/12 - The World is going to End!

12/12/12 Has any one noticed that the date is really 2012/12/12 and the more poetic date would have been 1212/12/12 , oh but yeah, the eurpeans of the middle ages wouldn't have known about the mayans or their calender  or the fact the Mayan Priests might just have been thinking:

~Look we've gone over a thousand years into the future which this calender stuff, can't we just end here?
~I really don't want to go get another rock.
~In a thousand years the priests then can calculate the calender for another 1000 years years. It's not like any of us is going to still be alive.
~ Ooh, look at the time, it's getting to late to continue. We've got to take the heart out of the virgin so the sun will rise tomorrow, or this calender won't mean a thing.

NO well, of course not, after all wisdom diminishes with age and learning.

I was going to learn you some other end of world dates, but the list is too darn long go here and learn how wrong people can be .

Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. "

No one knows ... but the Ancient Mayans.

What?

F****** EH!

  From Facebook

You probably missed it in the local news, but there was a report that someone in Pakistan had advertised in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed a Canadian - any Canadian.

An Australian dentist wrote the following editorial to help define what a Canadian is, so they would know one when they found one.

A Canadian can be English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. A Canadian can be Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, Arab, Pakistani or Afghan.
A Canadian may also be a Cree, Metis, Mohawk, Blackfoot, Sioux, or one of the many other tribes known as native Canadians. A Canadian's religious beliefs range from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or none. In fact, there are more Muslims in Canada than in Afghanistan. The key difference is that in Canada they are free to worship as each of them chooses. Whether they have a religion or no religion, each Canadian ultimately answers only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

A Canadian lives in one of the most prosperous lands in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which recognize the right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

A Canadian is generous and Canadians have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. Canadians welcome the best of everything, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services and the best minds.
But they also welcome the least - the oppressed, the outcast and the rejected.

These are the people who built Canada . You can try to kill a Canadian if you must as other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world have tried but in doing so you could just be killing a relative or a neighbour. This is because Canadians are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, can be a Canadian.

My comments:

The only comment I would make is that we Canadians don't actually have the right to pursue happiness.  But that is a different post!

Galadriel Speaks: TTC ID and Pass Not Accepted By TTC Driver

Since Arwen and I had a day off from school we decided to go Christmas shopping.

We get on the bus and I flash my S (high school student)TTC ID and my S (High school Student)TTC Pass to the driver.

The driver stopped me and said that I had to use the P (Post secondary School) Pass.

"but I'm a high school student"

"It doesn't matter" The bus driver said.

A woman who was on the bus with me vouched for me and said "no she's fine" and he still wouldn't accept my  S TTC ID and S. TTC pass.  I could understand if I had a P ID and I was using an S pass but I wasn't.

Grudgingly not wanting to start a war or put the bus out of service, I pay the adult fair and head to the back of the bus.

Now I'm confused if  I have an high school ID S card and an S pass why would I need a P pass
When I got home my mother (who I had called when I had gotten to the Subway station) told me that she had called the TTC and the woman on the line said taht next time I should get off the bus and not pay the fair and take the number of the bus so that when I complain to the TTC they can bring the driver in for 'reeducation'

To all parents, has this ever happened to your kids or is this just for children who live near universities and colleges?

Blessed Saint Nicholas, to save three sisters from a life of prostitution you, under cover of night gifted their poor father three purses of gold so that, having dowries, the girls would be able to marry, pray for the female victims of violence, not only like the fourteen vibrant young women whose lives were cut short, for no other reason but because they dared to be girls in an engineering school and despised by a gunman, but also the unborn girls whose very existences are endangered for no other reason but that they are girls concieved in a culture that despises girls. Amen

Canada's  Parliament is taking a step to repeal the gun registry, because in short it is badly managed and apparently costly  Unlike the US Constitution the Canada Act has no provision that guarentees the Canadian the Right to Bear Arms.  In short no Canadian has that RIGHT, the government though does give us the licence to bear arms, and just as the law requires the drivers to be trained and prve this training with a license and registering their cars, so it is right to licence gun owners and register their firearms   The only problem I have with the Long gun registry is that it only applies to long guns not all guns.

Every car has a history. If you buy an used care and want a history on the car you can get a CARFAX printout on that car.  Why would it be so difficult to do the same thing with firearms.  Just as cars have VINs, so guns have serial numbers, So cars have tags and a history, why can't guns?  If registering cars and licencing drivers is manageable why can't the same be done with guns and gunowners?

But then again what do I know?

Sins that Cry Out to Heaven

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
1867 The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are “sins that cry to heaven”:
the blood of Abel, Genesis 4: 10-11 10And the Lord said, ‘What have you done? Listen; your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!11And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
the sin of the Sodomites, Genesis 19:1312 Then the men said to Lot, ‘Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city—bring them out of the place.13For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.’
the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt, the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan, Exodus22:20-23 You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.22You shall not abuse any widow or orphan.23If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry;
injustice to the wage earner. Deuteronomy 24:14-24:15 You shall not withhold the wages of poor and needy labourers, whether other Israelites or aliens who reside in your land in one of your towns.15You shall pay them their wages daily before sunset, because they are poor and their livelihood depends on them; otherwise they might cry to the Lord against you, and you would incur guilt.  OR James 5:4 4Listen! The wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

There was a time when I would sit down and write an essay on this, but I really don't have the time, so Instead I just wrote them down and gave you a few references  Really, what more could I add.  God already inspired greater writers to write on these points

So You Don't Like Wishing Me, "Merry Christmas"

Okay, then feel free to wish me, "Have a Blessed and Holy Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ."

Scripture to keep in mind

Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth: [17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, [19]A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren. [20] My son, keep the commandments of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. ***Cf:Douay-Rheims Proverbs 6: 16-20
