Blessed Saint Nicholas, to save three sisters from a life of prostitution you, under cover of night gifted their poor father three purses of gold so that, having dowries, the girls would be able to marry, pray for the female victims of violence, not only like the fourteen vibrant young women whose lives were cut short, for no other reason but because they dared to be girls in an engineering school and despised by a gunman, but also the unborn girls whose very existences are endangered for no other reason but that they are girls concieved in a culture that despises girls. Amen
Canada's Parliament is taking a step to repeal the gun registry, because in short it is badly managed and apparently costly Unlike the US Constitution the Canada Act has no provision that guarentees the Canadian the Right to Bear Arms. In short no Canadian has that RIGHT, the government though does give us the licence to bear arms, and just as the law requires the drivers to be trained and prve this training with a license and registering their cars, so it is right to licence gun owners and register their firearms The only problem I have with the Long gun registry is that it only applies to long guns not all guns.
Every car has a history. If you buy an used care and want a history on the car you can get a CARFAX printout on that car. Why would it be so difficult to do the same thing with firearms. Just as cars have VINs, so guns have serial numbers, So cars have tags and a history, why can't guns? If registering cars and licencing drivers is manageable why can't the same be done with guns and gunowners?
But then again what do I know?
