To All the Morally Justified and Devout Catholics Damning Adam Lanza

It has always been my understanding that the final judgement is God's and God's alone.  Where we may highly suspect that some one is or will be judged to spend eternity in Hades, it is NOT our place to judge or even curse someone to hell.  There are reports the Connecticut shooter committed suicide, and yes that usually suggests a Sin against the Holy Spirit, but remember that the Church and therefore God, does make exceptions in the case of mental disease or insanity  (and if you think that a sane person could do what the shooter did in Connecticut, I pray that God does not judge you so harshly but grants you some compassion, and that self same mercy you are withholding from your fellow man.

For the victims in Connecticut:
Eternal Rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. AMEN

12/12/12 - The World is going to End!

12/12/12 Has any one noticed that the date is really 2012/12/12 and the more poetic date would have been 1212/12/12 , oh but yeah, the eurpeans of the middle ages wouldn't have known about the mayans or their calender  or the fact the Mayan Priests might just have been thinking:

~Look we've gone over a thousand years into the future which this calender stuff, can't we just end here?
~I really don't want to go get another rock.
~In a thousand years the priests then can calculate the calender for another 1000 years years. It's not like any of us is going to still be alive.
~ Ooh, look at the time, it's getting to late to continue. We've got to take the heart out of the virgin so the sun will rise tomorrow, or this calender won't mean a thing.

NO well, of course not, after all wisdom diminishes with age and learning.

I was going to learn you some other end of world dates, but the list is too darn long go here and learn how wrong people can be .

Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. "

No one knows ... but the Ancient Mayans.

What?

F****** EH!

  From Facebook

You probably missed it in the local news, but there was a report that someone in Pakistan had advertised in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed a Canadian - any Canadian.

 An Australian dentist wrote the following editorial to help define what a Canadian is, so they would know one when they found one.

 A Canadian can be English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. A Canadian can be Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, Arab, Pakistani or Afghan.
A Canadian may also be a Cree, Metis, Mohawk, Blackfoot, Sioux, or one of the many other tribes known as native Canadians. A Canadian's religious beliefs range from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or none. In fact, there are more Muslims in Canada than in Afghanistan. The key difference is that in Canada they are free to worship as each of them chooses. Whether they have a religion or no religion, each Canadian ultimately answers only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

 A Canadian lives in one of the most prosperous lands in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which recognize the right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

 A Canadian is generous and Canadians have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. Canadians welcome the best of everything, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services and the best minds.
But they also welcome the least - the oppressed, the outcast and the rejected.

 These are the people who built Canada . You can try to kill a Canadian if you must as other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world have tried but in doing so you could just be killing a relative or a neighbour. This is because Canadians are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, can be a Canadian.

My comments:

The only comment I would make is that we Canadians don't actually have the right to pursue happiness.  But that is a different post!

Galadriel Speaks: TTC ID and Pass Not Accepted By TTC Driver

Since Arwen and I had a day off from school we decided to go Christmas shopping.

We get on the bus and I flash my S (high school student)TTC ID and my S (High school Student)TTC Pass to the driver.

The driver stopped me and said that I had to use the P (Post secondary School) Pass.

"but I'm a high school student"

"It doesn't matter" The bus driver said.

A woman who was on the bus with me vouched for me and said "no she's fine" and he still wouldn't accept my  S TTC ID and S. TTC pass.  I could understand if I had a P ID and I was using an S pass but I wasn't.

Grudgingly not wanting to start a war or put the bus out of service, I pay the adult fair and head to the back of the bus.

Now I'm confused if  I have an high school ID S card and an S pass why would I need a P pass
When I got home my mother (who I had called when I had gotten to the Subway station) told me that she had called the TTC and the woman on the line said taht next time I should get off the bus and not pay the fair and take the number of the bus so that when I complain to the TTC they can bring the driver in for 'reeducation'

To all parents, has this ever happened to your kids or is this just for children who live near universities and colleges?

Blessed Saint Nicholas, to save three sisters from a life of prostitution you, under cover of night gifted their poor father three purses of gold so that, having dowries, the girls would be able to marry, pray for the female victims of violence, not only like the fourteen vibrant young women whose lives were cut short, for no other reason but because they dared to be girls in an engineering school and despised by a gunman, but also the unborn girls whose very existences are endangered for no other reason but that they are girls concieved in a culture that despises girls. Amen

Canada's  Parliament is taking a step to repeal the gun registry, because in short it is badly managed and apparently costly  Unlike the US Constitution the Canada Act has no provision that guarentees the Canadian the Right to Bear Arms.  In short no Canadian has that RIGHT, the government though does give us the licence to bear arms, and just as the law requires the drivers to be trained and prve this training with a license and registering their cars, so it is right to licence gun owners and register their firearms   The only problem I have with the Long gun registry is that it only applies to long guns not all guns.

Every car has a history. If you buy an used care and want a history on the car you can get a CARFAX printout on that car.  Why would it be so difficult to do the same thing with firearms.  Just as cars have VINs, so guns have serial numbers, So cars have tags and a history, why can't guns?  If registering cars and licencing drivers is manageable why can't the same be done with guns and gunowners?

But then again what do I know?

Sins that Cry Out to Heaven

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
1867 The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are “sins that cry to heaven”:
the blood of Abel, Genesis 4: 10-11 10And the Lord said, ‘What have you done? Listen; your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!11And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
the sin of the Sodomites, Genesis 19:1312 Then the men said to Lot, ‘Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city—bring them out of the place.13For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.’
the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt, the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan, Exodus22:20-23 You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.22You shall not abuse any widow or orphan.23If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry;
injustice to the wage earner. Deuteronomy 24:14-24:15 You shall not withhold the wages of poor and needy labourers, whether other Israelites or aliens who reside in your land in one of your towns.15You shall pay them their wages daily before sunset, because they are poor and their livelihood depends on them; otherwise they might cry to the Lord against you, and you would incur guilt.  OR James 5:4 4Listen! The wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

 There was a time when I would sit down and write an essay on this, but I really don't have the time, so Instead I just wrote them down and gave you a few references  Really, what more could I add.  God already inspired greater writers to write on these points

So the Mayor of Toronto has been Judiciously removed from Office

Okay, The Honourable Mayor of Toronto has been found guilty of Conflict of Interest charges and is to vacate his office by December 5.  The Mayor's lawyers have stated they will seek an appeal and a stay of the Order until the appeal is heard. I, at this juncture have not heard either on the stay or if a judge is willing to hear the appeal.

This stems from the Mayor asking for donations, to his charity( I believe it was donations to the high school footbal team he coaches) on Mayoral Letterhead. Donations totalled just over $3000.00 which were donated by Lobbyists.

Now as I can piece this together from the various news sources, the common chronology of events to this story which are those parts to which everyone is agreeing are:

First: The Mayor sends out letters to the Lobbyists on Mayoral Letterhead asking for donations to the High School Football team he coaches.  Some or all of these Lobbyists donate a total of just over $3000.00 The Mayor is informed that he has breached City Council's Code of Conduct by the Integrity Commisioner( one four persons in the Office of Accountablity- which also includes the Auditor General, the Ombudsman, and the Lobbyist Registrar) - by asking for donations to a private charity using city resources, (remember the Mayoral letterhead) and must repay the donations from his own pockets.

The Commissioner's order is brought for a vote at the Municiple Council Meeting.
Second: Then Mayor, at a Council meeting, not only speaks to the issue but also VOTES on whether or not he should be forced to repay the donations out of his own pocket.  (There is video of this, but I am unable to find it at this time.)  At this point he has run afoul of the Provincial Conflict of Interest Law.
Third: A private Toronto Citizen hires lawyer Clayton Ruby, who takes  the case pro bono, to bring the Mayor to court, over the Conflict of Interest Charges.

A judge found Mayor Ford guilty of the breaching the Provincial Conflict of Interest Statute and imposes the mandatory and automatic penalty of removal from office( basically he's been impeached), which the judge said he must do in 14 days.  The judge further order that he cannot run for re-election for the rest of the term. ( The mayoral terms was to end in 2014- when there would have been a Muncipal General Election.)

There are a few things happening at this juncture:

1- The Mayor and his lawyers are going to appeal, and ask for a stay until the appeal is heard. Effectively meaning that the mayor stays until a second judge tells him to leave.As I stated above I have no news as to whether he'll get the hearing or the stay.

2- City Hall has to decide whether to A)  Appoint a "caretaker " Mayor until 204 when the present mayoral term ends and a general municipal election can be heard.  (This would be the most inexpensive option.  The Council would NOT be bound to appoint a councillor, in fact they can choose ANY Torontonian who is a Canadian Citizen.) or B) Hold a by-election, which would cost the City of Toronto 7 million dollars, to have the people of Toronto elect someone to serve the remainder of Rob Ford's Term as Mayor Rob Ford's term as mayor was to end in 2014.

Option B also has other problems.  The Mayor through his lawyers that if they have a by-election he will have his name on the ballot.  He, through his lawyers are arguing that the "term" mentioned in which he cannot run for election is the fourteen days until he must vacate his office.

Can anyone besides me understand how that is a ridiculous and stubbornly arrogant interpetation of the decision.  BTW the City someone or other has stated that his/her interpetation of the decision is that the mayor cannot run in the by-election, if there is one.  The by-election is to find someone to finish the present mayoral term, that's why it's called a BY-election, hence he cannot run for re election until 2014 .  Does anyone other than me get that? The fourteen days delay the judge gave was a grace period given so that Metro Council could have some time to figure out what they were going to do for a mayor for the next year and something left until the General Election. not a term of office.
Saint Michael, patron of Toronto, please pray for us.  Saint Thomas More pray for us.

I fear that in their zeal to impeach the Mayor, the Mayor's detractors have succeeded in making Mayor Ford a martyr to his most staunch supporters.  And quite frankly that is an insult to all political martyrs, like Saint Thomas More.

Now I have no idea if what I wrote makes sense, but it is as best as I understand it.  If I`ve gotten the FACTS wrong, let me know CHARITABLY in the commbox.  I don't care what YOUR OPINION is.

UPDATE:
Oh now, our "illustrious mayor" and his Councillor Brother have decided that if the Mayor cannot run in a by-election and City Hall  decides on a By-Election then The Mayor's Brother will run in the By-election that way there will at least still be a Ford in Office.

Well maybe the Brother should run in the By-election, and hopefully the good people of my fair city will not let themselves be fooled again by these these politicians.

What?

The World is Lucky I am NOT God

I am still pissed off with several people.  I am feeling very much disappointed and let down.  I was thinking to myself:

The World is so lucky that I am not God, 'cause quite frankly I would have given up on the whole planet a long time ago.  In fact, I would love to give up on a few people.

And then God slammed me upside the head with a two by four.

If I won't give up on the world,  you won't give up on them

Warning I am Pissed Off

I am damned angry with everyone.  Everyone, indiscriminitely angry.  In the past few weeks, but especially in the last week,  I have been yelled, blamed and bullied at by anyone and everyone with whom I have come in contact, with very few exceptions. And what is worse: I have been responding in kind.

My patron saints for this year apparently are Cyril and Methodius, known for bringing peace to warring factions, and not less than 2 days after receiving them as patron saints than war breaks out from several sides. (I may have mentioned this before but, I strongly surmise that God has an hilarious sense of humour)

I'm starting to think the hermits had it right.  Saint John the Baptist was perfectly healthy while he was alone -he was fine until he dealt with people then he lost his head.

People are just plain mean.

I'm going Christmas Shopping and then catch a movie.

Forgiveness without apologies

Any ideas.  My sister can say horrible things, especially when she is stressed. We all do.  Yet when I do I call her back and apologize, if not for the message, at least for the tone, or the manner in which I said it.  And she usually accepts my apology by making me endure how awful I was. Actually I don't know if she has ever accepted an apology, since she will bring things up later. Yet when the situation is reversed and she explodes on me, she never apologizes and if I should dare to mention it she is offended that I would even bring it upsaying:  Couldn't you just let it go? Why do I even bother to apologize if I never receive one back.  If I am expected to forgive without even having the right to acknowlege that I was wronged, and if my errors are magnified and thrown back in my face why do I bother?

War Memorial in Coronation Park Defaced by Muslims

And we will just wash it off and pretend that it's just some misunderstood kid who needs our patience and forgiveness.  The Police will charge the vandal and s/he/they will face a prison term for vandalism.
I find it odd that in the news program they only repeat the Canada will burn:  not the rest of the phrase.

This will be a Remembrance Day Weekend We Wil Remember

Thursday Morning: Frodo and I go to my mom's  When we get back Frodo won't go down for his nap, whinging.  Finally goes down, wakes and has nausea. Frodo has nausea 5 times in four hours.  Take him to doctor:  After the Doctor visits Frodo, conclusion:  The cold he had descended into his stomach and he'll probably be ill for a few days. It will run its course. Nausea will become diarrhea as it moves down and out. Rx:  Keep him hydrated.  Lots of water, don't rush the solid food.  If about electolytes(he hates pedialytes)  add some sugar and a pinch of salt to the water. yadda yadda yadda.. Third kid, many stomach flus and colds before, scary but manageable. One thing I new for sure.  I was getting sick.

Friday AM Frodo is much better, I on the other hand, by the time I hit the subway station closest to home, coming back from taking Arwen to school, and cooking for my mother, nausea hits and I spend time in the subway bathroom. Bear takes day off work, tend to Frodo, who is up and alert and happy and not sick in the least. Not even complaining of tummy ache. Spend day between bed and bathroom. Call my mother a few times to make sure she is okay and Frodo or I didn't inadvertantly contaminate her when we were over. Though I doubt it.  There was no "sickness" suffered at her place by either Frodo or myself so contamination factor was limited where she was concerned.

Friday PM Galadriel comes home.  She agrees to watch Frodo while Bear goes to pick up Arwen.  Arwen puts the bus out of service ten seconds after Bear asks to be let off between stops because she was going to be sick.  They had just turned into the university. It's five P.M.   By the time they get home Bear is felled too.  Galadriel  descends to the basement,  to get away from all the sick people.  She is felled  by 10 p,m.  No one sleeps Friday night except Frodo.

Saturday: Frodo nausea again.  Bear quips This isn't no stinking cold in the stomach.
I am better.  I lay in some supplies. Ginger ale, Rice Krispies, Cheerios, Jell-o, and Lysol.I attempt to disinfect the necessary areas.
 Galasriel sleeps all day.
Arwen, ambulatory, achy, no nausea, some diarrhea.
Bear: sick but ambulatory.

Sunday: Remembrance Day
We unfortunately can't go to mass.  Miss it on TV.  Not the same thing but better than nothing.  Catch the remembrance Day ceremony from Ottawa.  Honour our war dead.  We are the waking dead.  Get Arwen to finish up her Egypt diorama ( in case we miraculously get better by tomorrow.)  Credit to her she did a good job (Remind me to spray the whole thing with Lysol before she takes it to school whenever she goews back. Arwen works on her essay.  Frodo is fine and rambucntious.  Eating rice krispies, and cheerios, and juice and hesitantly I offer milk,- he keeps everything down and is doing fine.  Bear heads out to lay in some more supplies.  Ginger ale and more gingerale

Bear announces : I lost 15 lbs.  We all get the weird fascination to weigh ourselves. Arwen lost 3, I lost 7( Yeah, finally broke that magic number.  Disappointment sets in when I realize that the weight will probably come back when I am properly hydrated.) and Galadriel lost 2.

Today early morning. Frodo is sleeping soundly.  Arwen is in pain, Galadriel is out of it ( They are both staying home, executive decision, assignments due be damned) Bear is uncertain,  but this is his day off anyway so. Me I am still sick but ambulatory.  And my conern this morning after the from hell, the weekend when I was dead to the world: . I am dreading calling my sister and letting her know I cannot care for mother today.  Jeez After all this and talking to my sister is what concerns me.  someting is seriously wrong.

But We will survive cause well Survivor said it well

Patron Saint of Landlords

Who is the patron saint of Landlords. I notice that landlords don't seem to have any one in heaven to intercede to God on their behalf. Seems a little unfair. Landlords. Does anyone out their know who is the patron saint of landlords(ladies)?

Hallowe'en is NOT a wiccan holiday

Just because a Christian holiday falls on the same day as another holiday doesn't mean that the the Catholic Holiday started in paganism. All Saints (All Hallows Day) is a Catholic holiday, a Cathoic day to honour all the saints, canonized and uncanonized, that have achieved beatific vision. If the new converts of a centuries ago inculturated and repurposed the pagan rituals it doesn't mean the Feast of All Saints or it's Eve has pagan roots. ( As far as I know pagans don't have saints, so they can't have All Saint's Day As for certain aspects of all Hallows Eve. Trick or Treating, or dressingup or going from house to house, may or may not be remnants of the celtic Beltain or Samhain or whatever "ain" that might have existed centuries ago but any of the pagan religious connotations have long been removed and replaced with Christian overtones and undertones centuries ago. (BTW I don't care what tradition came from where- so any info you want to impart, please understand I don't care. Whatever the reason they used to do it, doesn't matter, That's not why it's done now.) So in essence all that really remains linking the two hoiidays is the date and dressing up, BTW and the dressing up of chilren came way later. Further don't know about you but ghosts ( souls ) are Christian, Vampires are Transylvanian. Frankestein's Monster comes from literature etc. Skeletons come Anatomy, Witches, and evil Queens were created by the Brothers Grimm. Animals come from nature. Oh and Superheroes are definitely not Wiccan. What I don't see are little kiddies dressed like the Wiccan god(dess) Whatever October 31 used to be called centuries ago, that isn't want it is now.

On Fall Cleaning...... House, Oven, and Soul

Well, I wasn't actually planning on doing the fall cleaning, prep house for winter until next week, but the co-op has pest control coming in, so I decided to move the deep clean up.

I started with the upstairs.  Did the bedrooms, mainly getting rid of clothes that we don't wear or haven't worn in 5 years.  I am not ever getting into that little black dress again. Why is it taking up a coat hanger.  There are also a myriad of broken toys torn books ( Frodo inherited books from his sisters, and some were falling apart before he got them) Anyhoo.  The bedrooms produced 7 large garbage bags of trash.  And 1 bag of clothes for the "Help Yourself Pile" or the Good Will, Saint Vincent de Paul.etc etc

The Tiles in the bathroom are finally clean  and clear of the sopa scum and mildew stains.  (Scrubbing Bubbles really does work better than anything else.)

To make my life easier today, Bear made Sunday dinner. (Roast Stuffed Turkey) mashed potatoes, gravey etc.  Anyway. after dinner I am doing the dishes and the roasting pan is driving me bonkers.  And then it hits me.  I'll just put in the oven and put the oven on a two hours self clean.  Kill two birds with one stone.

I've taken the long way to get to the point of my story.  As I was debating how long a cleaning cycle I should program, I started thinking about how God decides the length of time we get in purgatory.

With the oven.  The dirtier it is or the longer it has gone with cleaning the longer it needs to run in order to clean the oven.  The same can be said of our length of time in purgatory.

The less often I use the oven or the more often I clean it the less time I need to run the clean cycle.

The less I sin (stain my soul) or the more often I seek confession, absolution and gain indulgences, then the less time I will spend in purgatory.

Sometimes God hits me with a two by four, and then there are times He hits me upside the head with a 2 X8.  It's time I put my (soul) oven through a  (confession and absolution )
2 hour cycle before it gets away from me and I need the (purgatory) 4 1/2 hour deep clean.

Peace, and Happy Sunday

Heard on the Bus: On Husbands and Wives

I am on bus reading A Clash of Kings when I overhear a woman on her cell phone complaining about her husband.

Woman: .........something something wasn't paying attention yet then...  He makes plans to take out his mother, or go out with friends, and he says it's because he doesn't see them often something  ......  I don't mind when he takes his mother out, or goes out with his friends.  .......  It isn't about how often he goes out with them. it's about how he doesn't take me out........... ... Yes, I've taken him to something he likes, but he never makes plans to take me out............He says that he doesn't think about taking me out because he sees me everyday.....Yeah, I know he may be right...... All that means is that he never chooses to spend time with me; I'm the default setting.
At that point she got off the bus.

Arwen has boy troubles?

Boy to Arwen: You are WIERD!

Arwen to boy: I know I am. Deal with it.

That's my girl.

Like February 29, October 15a day to be celebrated

February 29, 1984 Pierre Elliot Trudeau after a long walk in the snow decided to step down as Prime Minister.  For some the only bad part of his decidind to step down on the 29th of February is that it could only be celebrated every four years.

October 15, 2012 Dalton James Patrick McGuinty announced he was stepping down as Premier.  Unike Trudeau's retirement, this one can be celebrated every year.

Good riddance to bad rubbish

Why O Why Didn't I Pick Up on the Cues

Months o many months ago Frodo learned to drink from a sippy cup.. Not much, he really didn't like it but hey he learned to get the milk, water, juice what have you from the sippy cup to the  his mouth and swallow into his stomach.  But he had the awful habit of turning his sippy cup over until the valve came off and the liquid sprinkled all over the floor, his chair, himself.  So I put kept him on the bottle for most of the day and only had him on a few sips from the sippy cup throughout the day. Actually this is a poor excuse he used to sprinkle the furniture using his bottle too.  So I could have weaned him months ago.  But he would wake up at night and well someone in the house thought it was just easier to get him back to  bed with a bottle, at two in the morning whatever works, right??  Well try getting him back to bed at 2 am now that there is no nipple in the house.

Then I stopped giving him the sippy cup, it just got confusing and tiring.  Really he knew that sooner or later in the day he was getting a bottle so why actually drink from the cup. What I should have done was throw out the bottles at the first sign he knew how to drink from the sippy cup.  And tell someone to rock him to sleep.  BUT NOOOOOOO, did I, no.

Now, I am not a complete and utter idiot. He does sleep without the bottle.  Actually he stopped having a bottle at bedtime himself, he prefers to be rocked to sleep. And his last of the nipples tore so I just haven't replaced the nipple.  And today, he is just plain sulking.  I am going to have to just tough it out for the next few days.  (Arwen stopped nursing completely and on to a straight cup- no spout in two days at 18 months.) I could kick my self.  I should have done this when he was 8 months ago. Why was I so completely distracted.

Honestly, Frodo has figured out how to buckle his stroller restraints. and today just learned to turn a door handle and push the door open( bathroom door no less.  He can also unlock the front door. and climb and descend stairs.  So why is he fighting learning to drink only from a cup. He doesn't need it to soothe himself, he prefers hugs and more hugs. so what's going on?

I don't expect sympathy.  And don't tell me what I should have done.  Just writing what's going on.

Thanksgiving Day is Monday.  After he is comfortably off the bottle.  I am getting him potty trained.  It's time.  He takes his diaper off when he's wet/soiled or when he is going to wet or soil it.  Time to train.  If I don't succeed during Thanksgiving Week, then Christmas fortnight for sure.  Someone  had better understand that I know what has to be done and should defer to me.

We need a Counter Revolution-- no really!

40 Years ago the Catholic church had a revolution.  And no I don't mean Vatican II.  What I mean is the "Spirit of Vatican II" revolution.  This pseudo intellectual, out right lying interpretation of the Second Vatican Council.

I think this counter-revolution should be called the "Letter of Vatican II" epitomized by the reading honestly the documents of Vatican II and admitting that they lied to us all the way down the line.  It started with a few people lying and then those lies were spread as though true and so on and so on and so on, because there was no way for anyone to check them and so they could..

I say go to the Vatican archives (online) read the documents. see what they actually said.  Read the Letter of the Council and banish the false spirit that has permeated the Church for over 40 years.

We need a banner, a logo.  Anyone have any ideas? let me know?

Motion 312 vote Defeated

Motion 312: To strike a committee to study the criminal code's definition of when human life begins was defeated by a vote of
203 nays/contres to 91 ayes/pours
Interesting votes: PM Harper voted against the motion, actually no that isn't a surprise.
                         Minister Ambrose for the Status of Women voted FOR the motion, she is getting slack big time.  Pray for her. She is conflicted,   She said she voted in favour of the motion because she is concerned about the violence against women through gender based abortions.  She may through this conflict come to the pro-life side. So pray for her.

I Name the HP craven.  You couldn't even muster the courage to discuss the science of life.

They who had the courage to redefine marriage without so much as referencing a dictionary, a lexicon, a religious minister of any denomination, couldn't even consider seeking knowledge and advice from scientists, biologists, people who are considered experts in this field what the accurate definition of human being should be.  CRAVENS all 203

~~~~Centric Schools :Queries?
For those of you who don't know, Toronto has AfriCentric Schools.  The idea was the brainchild of some African Canadian Educators. Let me say first and foremost I don't have a horse in this race.  But I will offer a few observations.
First, When the White South African Government developed Afri-Centric territories, and afri-Centric schools, etc, it was labelled Apartheid and judged bad.
But Afri-Centric Schools are judged good because it is the African Canadian parents who want to send their children to a school away from whites and learn a slightly different curriculum which focuses on African contributions more heavily than the all inclusive public paid for schools.
Question: So what the South African government should have done was not concentrate so much on pushing the Africans into Black Townships, but rather they should have focused on White-Centric Towns and Cities.  I mean if they wanted to separate themselves it would have be acceptable, right??
Now the gays are wanting Gay-Centric Schools: ((Let me just say, I don't have a horse in this race either.)Okay they are just discussing this at this point, but let's just think this through, shall we?. If conservative  straights had come up with this idea, it would have insulted someone. It would have been labelled homophobic and racist and discriminatory,  but because the Gays thought of this all by themselves, it is just a wonderful idea.  Publicly funded schools with private and special curriculum .(Gee if only we could have catholic -centric schools- oh wait, never mind that is a totally different situation, and besides when the catholic-centric schools stress being catholic, it is perfectly acceptable to threaten them with having their funding yanked-- but I am woefully digressing, ahem).
Query:  I wonder will they allow straights in and will they be forced to have Gay-Straight Alliances and support the students' rights to not be bullied because they are straight and not LBGTTQ, or would they be advised to just be a closet straight and not rock the boat, and fear being outed as straight?
MP Stephen Woodworth's Closing Remarks on Bill 312 ~ re: The Humanity of the Unborn Child
Taken From My  Facebook Wall
2nd Hour of Debate – Motion 312
September 21st, 2012
Mr. Speaker, our great democracy was founded on the promise that two founding nations in conflict could reconcile their differences peaceably. Generations of Canadians have lived - and died – to defend the dream of universal human rights and honest laws so necessary to fulfill that promise.
These ideals created unity out of diversity and made Canada a bright beacon of hope.
The sweep of history for 400 years has brought ever greater recognition of the inherent worth and dignity of every human being. That bedrock foundation anchors Canada’s essential character.
We are here in Parliament to honour that vision of Canada. We are here to seek out a spirit of compromise amid passionate debate. We are here to embrace advancing knowledge in the service of universal human rights.
Motion 312 honours those essential duties. Motion 312 seeks merely to shine the light of 21st century knowledge upon our 400 year old law which decrees the dehumanization and exclusion of a whole class of people, children before complete birth.
About abortion, I say this: recognizing children as human before the moment of complete birth will not resolve that issue.
Even Justice Bertha Wilson, who championed abortion rights in the Morgentaler decision, wrote that Parliament should “inform itself from the relevant disciplines”, the very proposal embodied in Motion 312.
Recognizing the reality that children are human beings before complete birth will affirm the hallowed principle that human rights are universal, not a gift of the State which may be cancelled by subsection 223(1).
It would be a triumph of leadership to insist that our definition of human being must not remain frozen in time forever, immune from the light of advancing knowledge, immune from democratic governance, and immune from the spirit of open dialogue.
It would honour our commitment to honest laws to recognize a child’s worth and dignity as a human being before the moment of complete birth if the evidence establishes that as fact.
It would fulfil our shared vision of Canada to allow, despite extreme and intransigent opposition, a mere study about human rights even if modern evidence might cause some to question our laws.
Or will Parliament reject those Canadian ideals? Is THAT what Parliament has come to?
I thank, and many Canadians thank, the Members who stand with me against that dismal view.
Yet we in Parliament cannot ourselves sustain - we cannot protect – we cannot without help safeguard – this great vision of Canada. The hope of a Canada governed by honest laws rests in the heart of every Canadian. The pledge offered by countless Canadians to the high principle of universal human rights will not be overcome by any decision of this Parliament. We may safely place our confidence in the certainty that Canadians will not rest content with the perpetual absence of open dialogue on this issue.
There is no more noble undertaking than to fulfill that essential promise of Canada. Join me in the conversation so necessary to reconcile Canadians.
Thank you
Prayers requested
For my American Cousins ( Two in Boston, and 3 in Connecticut) Outr of 5 grown people wanting to work only 1 has managed to keep his job and the other (having been laid off) found one, but it requires her to hire a baby sitter to care for her younguns in the afternoon, so she is working for the babysitter (The one from which she was downsized allowed her to work from home (telecommute)- so she is actually bringing home less than she was with her old part time job. They are all willing, able and looking.
Okay, So Sometimes I'm a Little Slow on the Uptake.: ObamaNation.
Arwen: Daddy, what's an abomination?
Bear:  The classic definition is a strong hatred and mistrust. In some cases it could mean a mis-creation, something hated so much because it is a perversion of the natural, or what is normal. --- Or the enemy of  The Hulk.
Arwen: Huh???
Puff: Oh crap! I just got it.
Bear: What?
Puff: ObamaNation.  I just got it!
Bear: You just got it now? It's been around for years and you're just getting it now?
Puff:  I never put together ObamaNation with abomination. I only ever saw the two words Obama and Nation.  You know: The Nation Obama leads, destroys, whatever verb you want to include. Now I get it.
Bear: Gives his head a quick shake.
Puff: ( I was thinking of our Mayor's (Rob FORD) campaign and how he and his supporters called themselves FordNation.) By the way, who came up with the phrase,  the supporters?
Bear: The enemy.
Puff: Oh...
Canadian Parliament: Motion 312: When Am I Human
Shamelessly pinched from the ArchToronto Blog:
 Motion 312 - When Am I Human?
What is Motion 312 about?
Motion 312 calls for the creation of a special committee in the Parliament to review the definition in Canadian law that a child becomes a human being only at the moment of complete birth.
Section 223 of the Criminal Code of Canada uses a definition of human being which is at least 400 years old. Canada borrowed this law from British common law, where it can be dated back to as early as 1642.
Section 223 (1) of the Criminal Code states that "a child becomes a human being when it has fully proceeded, in a living state, from the body of its mother..." Therefore if a toe is still left in the birth canal, that child is not considered a human being yet and therefore has no human rights in Canada.
Apart from a declining number of US States, only three other countries in the world now share Canada's refusal to recognize or protect the interests of children as human beings until the moment of complete birth: China, Vietnam, and North Korea.[1]
The Motion is scheduled for parliamentary debate on Friday September 21, 2012 at 1:30 pm ET and the final vote will be held on Wednesday September 26, 2012. Both the debate and the vote can be viewed on your local CPAC television channel or by visiting www.cpac.ca for a live podcast.
Fellow Catholics and all who are pro-Lifers, pray. Pray as you have never prayed before and then do more.
Where Can I Learn More About Motion 312?
Kitchener Centre MP (Federal) Stephen Woodworth introduced Motion 312. Please see his website for the full text of the Motion: http://www.stephenwoodworth.ca/canadas-400-year-old-definition-of-human-being/motion-312
Since abortion was decriminalized in Canada, over 3 million abortions have been performed. Almost 1 in every 4 pregnancies in the country ends in abortion. For more information about abortion in Canada see: http://www.campaignlifecoalition.com/shared/media/editor/file/AbortionFactSheet-CLC.pdf
Pope in Lebanon!. TTC messed up. NHL lockout??
Prayers needed
1.  Holy Father, German Shepherd of Faithful Catholics, is in Lebanon.
2. For Torontonians, the Spadina line is closed due to a TTC worker having been struck and killed by a train.  (Arwen is staying home- no way I can manoeuvre a stroller onto CROWDED Shuttle buses.  Anyway fellow Catholics you know curses are going to be flying around the TTC today.(( Though the subway is closed only from Downsview to Lawrence West, the Wilson Yards are closed and so there are fewer trains on the line so everything is going to be crowded and slow)  Remember to pray for the one who died, and the one injured, and the ones who forget themselves and curse today because they have been inconvenienced.
.5  (Galadriel still went to school, she will brave the Shuttle Buses I try to be overprotective, she tries to school me.--fail)
Puff:If you are unsure, just ask someone in a TTC uniform where you are supposed to take the shuttle buses.
Galadriel, "No, really? I thought I should just close my eyes spin three times and point and take whatever bus I see when I open my yes.-Sheesh"
Puff: Yeah, okay, do that.
Galadriel: Mom!
Puff: What?! Go. Be good, I'll call the school and let them know you might be late.
Galadriel: Bye
(She is walking sideways out the door, looking at me like I'm sending her into the lion's den.Well, honestly she's catholic, the feeling should be like second nature, fie, like first nature.)
It wasn't until later when I realized that what I should have also told her was if the TTC is completely messed up just come back home. I'll ask her Guardian angel to guide her home if that is best.
3. The National Hockey League and the Players union are having a dispute that might lead to a lock out at this juncture.  Remember the average Canadian, remember that we have a VERY long winter, remember that without hockey we Canadians can very easily suffer snowblindess (no colourful jerseys), and Hockey Night in Canada confusion and ennui.We will have to settle for the dramas and the sitcoms. That is an unnatural thing to do on a traditional hockey night.  The lockout will lead to unimaginable withdrawal symptoms of not seeing the Leafs lose, every week. It might have the unthinkable effect of people, normal people, deciding to get off there duffs and support the pee wee and junior leagues, or scoff, head to the rink and play.  Kids might actually decide to play street hockey- Car!. Prayers definitely needed.
Please pray for me, that goes without saying.
Canada Closed It's Embassy in Iran: and Iranian Canadians Cheered
Baird said the government is formally listing Iran today as a state sponsor of terrorism under the Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act, later in the day Baird announced that Syria was also placed on that list.
JSYK when nations are put on that list it means that Canadians affected by terrorism supported by the Iranian (or any nation on the list) regime to sue.
"Iran is among the world's worst violators of human rights. It shelters and materially supports terrorist groups," Baird said in a news release announcing the formal terror listing, adding: "Unequivocally, we have no information about a military strike on Iran."
Baird said Canada has closed its embassy in Iran, effective immediately, and declared personae non gratae all remaining Iranian diplomats in Canada. Those diplomats must leave within five days. All Canadian diplomats have already left Iran.
From another article.
For their part, Iranian-Canadian activists have been asking Ottawa to expel Iranian diplomats since 2003, when Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kahzemi was killed in Iran, and they stepped up the efforts after the regime’s crackdown on protesters following the 2009 presidential elections.
I don't know for sure but I think
The first time Canada closed it's Embassy in Iran was in 1979 ( for 8 years) after hiding 6 American Consular staff and getting them out of Iran when Iranian students took over the American Embassy and held the rest of the staff hostage for 444 days..  Canadian Iranian relations have been "iffy" to say the least since the execution of Iranian Canadian Photojournalist Zahra Kazemi.
What do conservative Christians and Muslim parents have in common: UPDATED
More comming. But for now guess
OKAY IT'S LATER
For the Whole Story as written in the Free Daily
Some of the comments on that website miss the point.
I have children in the Catholic school Board.  And my daughters tell me what they have been taught over the years.  There have been times when Bear and I have had to correct the teacher's history lesson, the civics' lesson (apparently according to this teacher Canada does NOT have a Reigning Monarch) and yes even religion lessons.  I don't know if I'd want to know the timeline so as to pull my daughter out of the class, but rather so I could correct the teaching at home. To explain that while people have those philosophies and lifestyles that that doesn't mean they HAVE to live that way. or they HAVE to agree with the teaching.
There is a big difference between teaching that children must respect people regardless of what the other person's religious, social, and political philosophies are or to which s/he or his/her parents adhere and being taught that it is perfectly acceptable to use ABC or live the gay lifestyle.
And, because someone is going to ask: If any of my children think they might have SSA while still in school, then I would give them the same advice I give my children if they don't have SSA: You are too young to be having ANY sex. ABC doesn't completely protect one against all the harm that sex at that age can cause, including exacerbating the confusion that all young people have.
Every one is trying to prevent children from having unsafe sex. That is commendable.  What are they doing to prevent kids from having ANY kind of sex? It is insanity to tell kids NOT to have sex, but then teach them how to ahead and do whatever they want without suffering repercussions. Have these educators forgotten a truism when it comes to children: Kids are notorious for trying to "get away with doing something they weren't supposed to be doing." The threat and fear of getting caught is a great dimotivational  tool.
Tell them NO SEX of ANY KIND, because it is wrong at their age. Don't dilute the message then by then saying: Oh but if you want to go ahead and have sex, you can use these things to mitigate the risks. Shere crap.
Tell them NO DRUGS because it is illegal, and they will end up in jail.
Truism read on a shirt
More People Have Read This Shirt
I really hate it when the truth jumps out and hits me in the face like it did Bear when he saw a guy wearing this same T-shirt.
O well, it is still covetousness to desire to have more readers than Fr. Z
Please Pray for the Repose of the Soul
of my great aunt, Maria Laura.  She died on Saturday, 91 years old.  Visitation tomorrow and Funeral Wednesday 10 a.m.  Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
AS for the exact relationship to me
Her father was my great grandmother's brother.
That made her my grandmother's 1st cousin
My father's 1st cousin once removed
and my 1st cousin twice removed,
but we called her "aunt" out of respect for her age and generation.
The odd part is she was the only one in the family who was able to point out to my dad who his mother was in a photograph.  (My father lost his mother when he was two and didn't remember her.) When I gifted my father a portrait of his mother, he took it straight to his aunt and asked if the likeness was correct, and she said yes. I remember my dad crying and then spent hours just staring at the portrait.  It seems odd, but she was the main connection to my grandmother.
The very few who read this blog will understand this next line:  The eagle head is now known.
On Potty training
There is pre-training and the actual training.
Pre-training is the months before the actual potty training.  Get the child interested in the potty.  Sit him up on the potty when he wakes up in the morning or from his nap.  This is pre-training, this is actually training you.  Watch your child.  Mine has developed the habit of pulling down his diaper. So I will sit him up.  But so far it is hit and miss.
He really isn't ready, but I am pre-training.  Waiting for the right time.  When the signs all come together.  The main one being that he KNOWS he is voiding or evacuating and can vocalize it. That's the most important part: he needs to have words.  Frodo was a little delayed in his first word.  He picks up words more and more, but doesn't have complete sentences yet.  So one thing at a time.  First he gets the words, while he is pre-training, and then hopefully by Christmas or next summer full tilt potty training.
With both  my girls, I pre-trained for about a 1/2 year first ( testing their readiness)  and then when all the signs were right just took off the diaper and let them walk around in their dresses ( they were both trained in the summer) when they started leaking rush them to the potty stool. After the first day, they would run to the potty on their own.  By the forth day I put them in underwear, and by the seventh day they were keeping the underwear dry all day. They were already waking up in the morning dry, which meant their bladders were large enough to hold a good amount. Gal. was potty trained at about three and Arwen was two and a half.  Both were potty trained in the summer: summer makes walking around sans diaper easier and having less clothing one makes it easier to manoeuvre in and out of clothes.
God Loves You
An anecdote from years when Orphanages were more common, and typically run by the church.
A little 6 year old girl, at the orphanage, is feeling kind of down in the dumps. She's in the playground keeping to herself, away from the other children.  Sister Beatrice comes by and asks her:
Sr. B.:  Grace, what is wrong?
Grace: Oh Sr. Beatrice.  I just sad because no one loves me.
Sr. B: But Grace, remember God loves you very much.
Grace: Oh sister, I know God loves me, I just want someone with skin on.
Expaining My Self Pitying Post Below
First: thanks to my commenters, both of you, for your love.
Second: Allow me to point out that I know that there are those who love me.  Bear, Gal, Arwen, and Frodo ( Okay- about Frodo- not sure yet- but he gives me kisses on my cheeks, yay-- and then follows that up by blowing raspberries on my cheeks -Okay he's a work in process, when it comes to loving, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt right now.) My mom.
Thirdly: I should point out that I was being saracastic. That day all heck had broken loose and it felt like everything had landed on my shoulders and everything had to be fixed a week ago.  Someone   had dumped her worries and concerns on me - loudly, unjustly blaming me for everything,  and expected me to have everthing fixed by the proverbial yesterday. And to boot I had pink eye and my allergies were up.
I sat down to  to have a cup of coffee, the cat came by, I go to pet the darn cat and she jumps away. And I make my comment. Arwen does not suffer self-pity kindly.  Hence her comment.
Arwen was, in her inimittable  way saying that the people who don't love me just don't know me yet.
I should have mentioned that I laughed, no actually I cracked up.
It was up there with: One billion Chinese don't care.
No one loves me
Puff:  is having a really bad day, even the cat jumped away from me, off my lap, as I tried to pet her: That proves it: No one loves me
Arwen: That's not true, well,  except for the people who don't know you.
Canada Remembers the Dieppe Raid
Read news story here
For the Wiki version go here
For the "real" reason for the raid go here
Apparently, from what I can figure out from the History channel Special I am watching, is just a different way of telling me that 3000+ wounded and killed Canadians were sent in as a cover for the secret 30th Assault Unit, created by Ian Fleming, to steal intelligence to help break the German code.
Doesn't change anything.  Our boys were still sent in as shock troops.  The worst part of this is The Canadians weren't even told the true reason for the horrifically failed raid.
Prime Minister Harper's Assumption Greeting
The Prime Minister of Canada
sends greetings for the
Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Mantilla nod Vox cantoris through Facebook
In other parts of the world today day is a Holy Day of Obligation
and therefore it is a holiday (as in no work)
And as suggested in that discussion maybe if we asked nicely, we could get it off here too.
Feast of the Assumption of Mary
O Blessed Virgin Mary,
united to the victorious Christ in heaven,
you are the image and first-flowering of the Church
as she is to be perfected in the world to come.
You shine forth as a sign of sure hope and solace
for the pilgrim People of God.
In your Assumption,
you manifest the fullness of redemption
and appear as the spotless image of the Church
responding in joy
to the invitation of the Bridegroom, your Son,
who is the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Grant that we may follow your example on earth
thereby imitating your Son as well
and being enabled to share your glory,
with Him for all eternity.
Two Novels
Arwen's : What Not to Wear
Puff: Galadriel please go to the store, we need some bread, milk, and if you go quickly you can even pickup some Nutella.
Should point out that Gal. is still not up, awake but still in bed.
Galadriel: Okay
.....a few minutes later Galadriel descends the stairs dressed in a jeggings and tank top.
Puff:  Um, you going out dressed like that.
Galadriel  Yeah, what about it.
Puff: Um okay, just go.
Arwen: You look like a hooker!
Galadriel: laughing.  Okay I'll go get another shirt on. walking up the stairs.
After a half minute.  Mom, all my clothes are in the wash.
 The interesting part of her dilemma is this: Does she go out dressed in CLEAN jeggings and tank top, ot does she pull out more respectable but dirty clothes. Odd I voted
Puff:  Wear the jeggings. and tank top.  This is a university campus on a hot day: trust me you are more covered than any one else is.
Real Estate Agents Dumming Up Business
No that is not necessarily a typo, and Bear I was not referring to Dummer Township.
A real estate agent knocks on my mother's door
REA:  Hello, are you the lady of the house?
Puff: AH no, but the homeowner is 86 years old and doesn't speak English ( actually she speaks English fine, unless I'm around and then she doesn't, because I am around to translate for her.  If you understand I don't have to explain, and if you don't understand, no explanation will suffice) Anyway, since I was there the statement is in fact true and honest.  I'm her daughter and can speak for her.  HOw can I help you?
REA: Hello I have a client who wants to purchase a home in the area.  Are you or someone you know thinking of selling.
Puff: At the present moment, no she wants to keep her home as she is still using it.  When she stops using it, my sister and I will probably sell then.
REA:  Do you think you might be selling in the next few months? handing me her card
Puff: Giving the card back. Takes a step back into the hall, and closes the door.
Mom:  What did she want?
Puff: Wanted to know if you were thinking of selling?
Mom: What did you say?
Puff: I said that you were using the house at the present time, and when you stopped using it it might go up for sale. Then, she asked if we would be selling in the next few months.
Mom:   Starts to ask What did you say???  Light dawning she starts to laugh You are horrible.
All that and I am the horrible one?  Great, just great
Why is being pro-Canadian so unAmerican
No really, that's my only quandary?
Canadians, Americans, lend me your opinions.  I come not... Oops that is another oration, sort of.
Very often when I am on a rave about Canada, someone, somewhere in America, will tell me that I am putting down Americans.
Bear and I went out to the movies last night.  One of the previews was for "Argo," about the American CIA involvement in the Canadian Caper.  Bear and I turned to each other and said, great, just remove all the work the Canadians did in that, and make it 100 percent a CIA operation, which it wasn't.  There was no way it could be.
Why is saying that it wasn't a total CIA operation and that we would have preferred if everything that the Canadians did to secure the release of the six NOT be ignored in that movie, make me (us) unAmerican?
Canada Vs USA, when it really counts
200 years ago
Much more important in the grand scheme of things than a soccer game.
Arwen calls it like it is
In the car discussing fads
Bear:  S. was going on about the new Apple i-pad. When they were revealing it the guy says: "And the carrier becomes a keypad," and he's all psyched about it and thinks its great,  and I am thinking, "Way to go, they just re-invented the notebook."
Puff:  And everything is i-this and i-that, even the phones are i-phones.  Everything hooks up to the internet.  Even Galadrial's phone which does not have  all the bells and whistles can still search the net and email and text.  No cell phone is JUST a phone. I wonder what i even stands for, internet or intelligent?
Arwen cutting in: It stands for "I wanna..."
I am redoing my sidebar
several of the links on my sidebar are pretty much dead, or rarely undated.
I am interested in maybe visiting other blogs.  If you have any that you think are interesting let me know.
Also if you want to stay on my sidebar let me know.
I haven't been reading many of the blogs that are there.  It seems to be associated with the general ennui I have regarding EVERYTHING not just blogging.
So I thought if I just shook things up ( you know like the PM shuffles his cabinet) might I don't know make me feel better.
2, This one prolly better for Vox if he drops by
I need some decent funeral hymns (not needed NOW, but it takes longer than the three days one usually gets to prepare a funeral mass
I would like to start with Eterno Riposo ( in italian, except the version I found doesn't have the versicles from Ezra just the antiphon.  I guess it could be repeated as necessary
The Ordinary will be either Italian, Jubilate Deo, or the New ICEL Mass
Communion will be Humbly we adore thee  Or God Head in Here Hiding
The Post Communion would be "Mira il Tuo Popolo" A marian hymn
Song of Farewell: Saints of God (trying to find it in Italian)
And Reverse Processional : In Paradisum (prolly in Latin)
Offertory has be stumped:  I was thinking of  Dal Profondo, but that isn't exactly an Offertory Hymn
Any ideas for an offertory hymn or motet in Italian that can be sung by a cantor not a choir would be great
To IPAddress: 10.144.128.# - UPDATED
You are on my site almost every hour, according to SITEMETER  Honestly, this blog is not very interesting.  Drop a comment in the comment box already.  Showing up every hour or so and just hanging around feels a little creepy and is actually stalking behaviour.
TO my other readers: all oh 5 of you.  I may have to make this a private blog and only have invited readers.  If that occurs I apologize, for the added headache of reading my words.
UPDATE
Searching around the web.
I checked by blogger stats and there is nothing odd, infact blogger stats are pretty tame.  most hits are redirecting from google search engines, except for those who come in from other blogs.  (TO those readers I say thank you for having me on your sidebars.
I plugged that IP address into google and came up with zilch on the owner.  It isn't even listed as a googlebot.  Any hoo, there are other bloggers who have the same IP address showing up on their SITEMETER accounts. THe other thing is that SITEMETER is wonky, gives you your summary but no analyses are available.
I think this may be a problem with SITEMETER AGAIN.
I advise you to check your visitors summary from SITEMETER, if you have it and see if this same IP address shows up.  I checked Bear's and it shows up there.  IF it is SITEMETER wide then it's a SITEMETER problem and the beginning of this post is null and void.  If some has hacked SITEMETER, bad you.
I got nothing
I find I am slowly drawing away from writing about faith and church.  (Aside: It's odd, but Church and Faith should be the same subject, and yet those two topics are practically mutually exclusive.  Sad, but true)
Any hoo
I am all written out.  The Church is in trouble.  We all know that. People are leaving, it seems, in droves.  Some because they no longer feel safe within the arms of Mother Church.
Others fool themselves and still believe that they are in the church even though they have no inkling that that would require obedience to the tenets of the faith of this said church.
Some leave because the Church is much to strict
Yet others leave because the Church is much to lax
The Church is attacked, granted sometimes the accusations are completely justified.  Sometimes the accusations are blatantly false.  And yet most of the time the accusations lie somewhere between true and false.  I am tired of publically fighting those who would attack her.  There are a few who could better fight.  I have lost the spleen, not to mention the liver for this sort of thing.
So I will tell you about the new series of books I am reading.  It is a children's series called "39 Clues"  The books are short quick and I can usually finish one in less than a day, even with my limited reading time.  There is a website where you can continue searching for, you guessed it the 39 clues.  Apparently the premise is that their are 39 clues that will lead you to that treasure which will make the bearer the most powerful person in the world.
The clues I have read so far include: Iron Solute, tungsten, myrrh, aloe, ( well there are more but I'm not about to list them all.) I've read only 7 of the 11 books.  I hope to stop off at the bookstore today when I go to my mom's and purchase the next one or two vols. and maybe a card package for for use on the website.
I started an account for Arwen.  She plays online, but she finds the books boring.  Odd, come to think of it the books are rather lame, but hey I guess I like lame
I close with this
PRAY FOR MOTHER CHURCH
READ SOMETHING FOR FUN
Scripture to keep in mind
Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth: [17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, [19]A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren. [20] My son, keep the commandments of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. ***Cf:Douay-Rheims Proverbs 6: 16-20
