The church struggling with the temptation of a witchhunt. The bishop of San Marino: "Hunting the Irish Bishops does nothing". The hard line of Weigel

From Rodari

"Be Careful - says the Bishop of San Marino Luigi Negri  to the Foglio - Peronista  Justice or Justicialism is as lethal in the Church as it is in the (secular) society. What good is cutting the heads off the leaders of the Church? None.  There may be Bishops who did not act for the better, but the criterium  of efficiency and perfection cannot be assumed to toto by the Church.  The church must respect the men, even if they err. The Church seeks perfection, certainly, but it knows well that this perfection is always to be won, to be achieved, even with errors and missteps.
NB: There's more. If you want to translate other phrases put the passage in the commbox and I'll do my best.

Scripture to keep in mind

Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth: [17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, [19]A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren. [20] My son, keep the commandments of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. ***Cf:Douay-Rheims Proverbs 6: 16-20
