There is a very specific reason why I insist that people, who comment in the commbox, own their words, or if they are not their own words, cite their references ( in short, yes, name their sources)
A non church example,
Sources close to the Duchess of Cornwall, confirmed that she said that the Duchess of Cambridge is unable to have children.
Who the hell are these confidential sources, really?
Until this is confirmed the above is just a rumour and innuendo. And if it turns out to be true, does that change the fact that it is a rumour now.
Same with confidential sources from the Archdioceses, or elsewhere in the Church.
How does ANYONE trust a source close to the Archdiocese who leaks information with out the Bishops' consent or knowledge.
I don't care if it turns out to be true. It is gossip at the start and I don't want it on my blog.
I detest information garnered from confidential, UN-NAMED sources. There are unnamed and unknown and therefore cannot be trusted. Further if they are wrong, this blogger has no recourse.
The sources are scoundrels to betray their superiors/ or their friends in high places, all for the appearance of "being one in the know" and getting most readers.
On the other blog. I wrote a post about the approval of the New Missal and that hopefully, we would be implementing it is Canada by Advent, but that first they were going to wait for the approval of the GIRM and the ordo. Although the US had gotten its GIRM adaptations approved, there were other English nations that still had to wait, for the approval, Canada among them.
Now another blogger states in the commbox that the real reason is that the CCCB was waiting for approval of the kneeling posture, before giving the nod to the implementation. Apprently, according to this blogger he was flummoxed at how the CCCB would dare to ask that the kneeling position used in French Masses, ( as approved in the French GIRM) be accepted and approved for use in English Canada. ( How dare the Bishops desire that every Catholic in Canada do exactly the same thing at every mass in every province. Scandalous!) And apparently this is what was holding up the approval. In fact he suggested that the Canadian Bishops should just accept that the position would NOT be accepted and just move ahead with the implementation, as the American Bishops did. In short adopt the American Adaptation and be done with it.
Canada's GIRM and ORDO was approved less than two weeks later. And Rome's answers to the Adaptations for Canada was such that ROME decided that each Bishop could choose which ever option they wanted from the adaptations. - So, not only were the adaptations that the CCCB put forward acceptable, Rome has left the Bishop of each diocese make the final decisions for his diocese. So much for these adaptations being so outrageous they'd never get approved.
In almost every fact the blogger was in error.
The delay was not because the adaptations put forward by the Canadian Bishops were not so difficult to decide upon, but that Canada just needed to wait her turn. Secondly, we will still be implementing the new Missal and GIRM by Advent 1, and Bishop Boissonneau has actually said that in order that the congregations can learn the responses in plenty of time the new responses can be used as early as September. BUT the celebrant can not use the words of the new missal at all until Advent I.
Actually according to rumours everything is so changed now, no one knows what's going on, including the sources.
IN short, I don't use leaked, or confidential information in my posts and I will not have them in my commboxes because they are nothing but rumours until they are confirmed. And when they are confirmed and the sources can be cited, they aren't leaks.
And for that reason I updated the post below to include the source of Bishop Boissonneau's letter to pastors. Just click on the link to be taken the the website.

Scripture to keep in mind
Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren. My son, keep the commandments of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. ***Cf:Douay-Rheims Proverbs 6: 16-20
